I make it a point to search out the very best products for my body. Taking my health and well-being into consideration every time I put something on my skin.

The skin. It’s your largest organ.

That’s right. The skin is an organ.

What you put onto it, is every bit as important as what you are putting into your body.

Think about the products you put on your skin as food for your skin.

The Environmental Working Group is an American non-profit organization dedicated to informing consumers about what is in products, food and world around them. A quick search of the ‘dirty’ chemicals found in a host of ‘natural’ products, first of all made me angry and then got me to work.

If the products I use are food for my skin, then I’m going to make them from food.

Coconut Lavender Shampoo

1 can of organic coconut milk

2 2/3 cup of Castile Soap

2 1/2 tsp Vitamin E oil

2 1/2 tsp Coconut oil

20 Drops of Lavender Essential oil (or play here! Add whatever oils you’re feeling!)

Coconut Lavender Conditioner

1 cup organic coconut oil

1 tsp vitamin E oil

1 tsp almond oil

20 drops of Lavender Essential oil

*put all the ingredients into a mixer and mix for 8 minutes. Using a small amount of this product will go a very long way!

Citrus Sea Salt Beach Waves Spray

2 Cups hot water

4 Tbsp Epsom Salts

1 tsp Himalayan Sea Salt

2 tsp Aloe Vera Gel

20 Drops Lemon Essential Oil

Wintergreen Toothpaste

1 cup of coconut oil, softened

3 Tbsp baking soda

3 tsp Xylitol

20 Drops of Wintergreen Essential Oil

THESE are natural products.

The shampoo and conditioner will keep in your shower for at least a month. The toothpaste until the coconut oil reaches expiration. The sea salt spray, indefinite.

This took me 30 minutes to do. It took me longer to find jars with matching lids than to create the products.
